Congratulations Georgiana Rodriguez (Ms. Gina G.)! Georgiana is a proud member of The Irene González Project and was one of the first instructors of the Pre K/ K Class at Centro de Folklor. Many of her first students are still dancing in the Primary 1 and Intermediate Classes.
Georgiana has received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from Fresno State University and plans to teach after her post-graduate work.
Georgiana has always loved tutoring and giving back to her community. We are all very proud of you Georgiana! You are changing the world one student at a time.
Congratulations to Selma High School Senior, Amiannah Martinez. Amiannah is graduating Top 25 in her class. She is part of Upward Bound, Doctor's Academy, folklorico and theater.
Amiannah was accepted to some of the top universities, but chose UC Berkley!
As for Centro de Folklor, Amiannah dances with the High School Class, assisted with the PreK/K Class, worked as stage manager for many of our recitals, and even helped out the Beginning Adult Class last year.
Amiannah has a big heart and we are proud to call her part of our folklorico family.
Congratulations to Mariana Magaña!
Mariana received her Masters of Science degree from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California. She received her Masters of Science degree in Systems Engineering with an Emphasis in Aviation Systems. Mariana is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering with a Minor in Material Science and Engineering. She currently works as the Supervisor and Site Leader of the Aerospace Engineers at the Lemoore Naval Air Station in Lemoore, CA.
Mariana joined Centro de Folklor four years ago and has been a great addition to our Folklorico family. She holds the award for longest distance commute. She travels from Porterville to Lemoore, to Selma and back to Porterville every week! We are so proud of you! We’re sure a Ph.D is not that far off in the future. Keep making us proud Mariana! #folklorico

Our Mission is to cultivate a love for Mexican folklor and for the folklor of our community through traditional dances. We also encourage our own stories to be told through dance.
Our Infantil will be on hold until all restrictions are lifted. Stay tuned for workshops and special events for our youngest folkloristas.

Lisette will be teaching the Pre K/K Class. She is a health care provider and in the Degree Completion Program at Fresno Pacific University working towards a Master's Degree in Social Work
Gracie works is a health safety worker and is studying Kinesiology at Fresno City College
Andrés is a food service worker and is studying Kinesiology at Fresno City College
Ramon works as a tutor and is Pre-Med at Fresno Pacific University.
Alyiah is a CNA at a retirement home and is studying Biological Sciences and Kinesiology at Fresno City College
Joey works as a bilingual para-professional and is studying Sociology at Fresno City College
Oscar has been a public school teacher for 27 years. He currently teaches 12th Grade English and Film as Literature.
