A wonderful three-day Festival in Fresno, CA. This year we will feature our Primary Class.
Sunnyside High School
Our Mission is to cultivate a love for Mexican folklor and for the folklor of our community through traditional dances. We also encourage our own stories to be told through dance.
Our Infantil Class is back!
This class is biweekly
This class is designed for children ages 2&3. They have arts and crafts, bilingual literacy, singing and dancing. The class is taught by Carmen Zarate & Viviana. Ruiz with Veronica Cruz and Lisette Salgado as Mentors
$100 for the October - December
Our Pre K/K Class is primarily for 4 & 5 year olds, but we will make exceptions for parents who prefer their kids to be in the class.
The class is held on
Tuesdays at 5:15 p.m.

The Fee is $35 a month
The Primary Class is for kids in 1st - 4th Grade with some experience in folklórico dance. The class meets
Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. and is under the instruction of

This Class is designed for kids who have no or little folklórico dance experience. They will learn some of the basic footwork and rhythms. The class is under the instruction of
Melina Jimenez and Hannah Peña and meets every
Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.

This Class is designed for kids in 5th-8th Grade. The class meets every
Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and is under the
instruction of Ramon Martinez

The Teen Class is for students in
8th - 12th grade.
The class meets every

It is under the instruction of Mariel Dominguez

The Comeback Class is for Adult Advanced Dancers. It meets on
Thursdays at 7:15 p.m.
They are under the direction of Oscar Hernández and assisted by Lisette Salgado, Joey Zamora, Ramon Martinez and Andrés Martinez
The Fee is $20 a month
The Irene Gonzalez Project is on a Hiatus while Chalome and Maia work on some exciting projects at Arte Americas. Please visit the Arte Americas website for list of events.
The Beginning and Intermediate Adult Class meets on
Wednesdays at 7:15 p.m.
They are under the Co-instruction of Oscar Hernández, Joey Zamora and Lisette Salgado
The fee is $25 a month
Lisette will be teaching the Pre K/K Class. She is a health care provider and in the Degree Completion Program at Fresno Pacific University working towards a Master's Degree in Social Work
Ramon works as a tutor and is Pre-Med at Fresno Pacific University. Ramon teaches the Juvenil Class and The Comeback Class. A loyal and respectful man. We are lucky to have him as part of our folklorico team.
Instructor of the Teen Class. Maribel has many years of experience as a dancer and now she taking her knowledge of dance and teaching it to the next generation of folkloristas. We are fortunate to have such a talented dancer be part of our folklorico family.
Melina has been dancing at Centro de Folklor since she was in the fifth grade. Now, a senior at Clovis High School, Melina is the co-instructor of the Folk 101 class and she dances with the Teen Class. Her calm demeanor and discipline makes her a great role model for our younger dancers.
Hannah has been dancing at Centro de Folklor for five years. She is the co-instrutor of the Folk 101. Hannah is a Junior at Clovis West High School and is a dancer in our Teen Class. She has a strong work ethic and is both a team player and a leader. We are so lucky to have her be part of our team.
Adrianna has been dancing with us for five years. She is an assistant in the Primary Class and is also a dancer in our Teen Class. Adrianna is a strong dancer and holds high expectations of the children she works with. It has been wonderful to see her grow as a dancer and an instructor.
Rory is one of our oringal dancers who started when she was in the sixth grade. Over the years she has developed as a dancer, but this year she decided to be part of the teaching team. She has made a great addition to the team and with her background in ROTC, she keeps thos kids in line.
Mia has been dancing at Centro de Folklor since she was in the sixth grade. She is a Senior at Dinuba High School and dances with our Teen Class at Centro de Folklor. We are lucky to have Mia be part of our team and the girls in the Primary Class learn a lot from her experience.
Rio is one of the newest members of our folklorico family. Rio is assists in many of the classes and dances with the Comeback Class. We are fortunate to have such a prolific folklorista in our midst. Rio attends Reedley College.
Veronica "Vero" dances with both the Comeback Class and our Beg/Inter Class. She assists in both the Infantil Class and the Pre K/K Class. She is always willing to help wherever needed. Vero excels in early childhood development and our little folkloristas are drawn to her gentle spirit and loving kindness. We are so lucky to have Vero as part of our team.
This dynamic duo are taking the next steps to learn about the teaching process. They are working with Lisette and Vero in the Infantil Class where they are learning about lesson planning and pedagogy. Carmen and Vivi are great additions to the teaching staff at Centro de Folklor
Oscar has been a public school teacher for 27 years. He currently teaches 12th Grade English and Film as Literature.8
Eric Anthony is new to folklorico but challenges himself to better every day. He is dancing in the teen class, but also is a Junior Assistant in the Pre K/K Class, the Folk 101 Class and the Juvenil Class. Eric is in the seventh grade.
Mia is one of our Junior Assistants. She is only in the sixth grade but already has an interest in being an instructor. She does a fantastic job preparing for the Infantil Class and the Pre K/K Class. She also dances with the Juvenil Class
