Come out to Downtown Selma for the Christmas Light Parade. Centro de Folklor will have a float, walkers, and performers all lit up with Christmas lights. Parade starts at 6:00 p.m.

We have amazing instructors. Most are in various fields of education and  some are still students pursuing a career in education.

Our Mission is to cultivate a love for Mexican folklor and for the folklor of our community through traditional dances. We also encourage our own stories to be told through dance.

Children's Class Announcements

Infantil Class

Next class will be on September 7th at 10:00 a.m.
La siguiente clase sera el 7 de septiembre a las 1

The Infantil Class is a specialty class for 2 & 3 Year Olds. The Class meets once a month for Crafts, Bilingual Literacy, Singing and Dancing.

Los Nenes (Pre K/K Class)

The Pre K/K Class is for 4 and 5 Year Olds. The Class meets once a week on Tuesdays for fundamentals of folklorico dance through games and dancing.

Los Chicos (Primary Class)

New Students without a Jalisco dress, pay half by the end of September.



The Primary 1 Class is for students who are 1st - 3rd Grade. They meete once a week on Wednesdays for more complex folklorico steps and choreography.

 The Primary 2 Class is also for 1st- 3rd Grade Students. This class meets on Tuesdays for foundations of folklorico dance and choregraphy. 

Los Escuincles (Intermediate Grades)

The Intermediate Class is for students in 4th - 6th Grade. They meet on Thursdays for rigorous folklorico dance steps and choreography. 

Los Plebes (Middle/High School Grades)

Our Middle School and High School Class is for Students in 7th - 12th Grade. They meet once a week on Mondays for precise and clean folklorico footwork and choreography.

The Comeback Class

The Comeback Class is designed for Dancers who have danced before and would like to continue dancing after high school. The class meets on Thursdays

The Irene Gonzalez Project

The Irene Gonzalez Project is an advanced level group who use folklorico to tell stories from both sides of the border. They create unique sets with intense footwork and aesthetically beautiful choreographies. . 

Beginning/Intermediate Adult Class

The Beginning/Intermediate Adult Class is for Adults who have never danced before or are really rusty. It is an energetic group who works on foundational steps and choreographies.
